My name is Mrs. Linda Bland. I graduated from Humboldt High School in 1991. I received my bachelor's degree from the University of Tennessee at Martin in 1996. I completed my Master's degree in education from Arkansas State University in May 2012.
I began teaching at Medina Elementary School in August of 1997. I taught third grade for four years before moving to Kindergarten. My heart has always been in Kindergarten. I love to see children learn something new. It is very rewarding when you see the progress each child has made during the year. Each child learns and develops at their own pace and in their own way. That is what makes each one unique. I strive to teach each child to the best of his/her ability. I feel that it is vital for parents and teachers to work together so the child reaches his/her greatest potential.
I am married to Mark Bland. He is a native of Medina and graduated from Gibson County High School in 1987. We have a blended family with three children. My step daughter, Brittany graduated from Gibson County High School in 2011. She married Brandon Leek August 2020. My step son, Mark Hunter Bland, graduated from SGCHS in May 2013. He works for Gerdau as a crew coordinator. Mark Hunter married his wife Shelby October 2017. (I taught Shelby in kindergarten!) They have blessed me with the sweetest granddaughter, Lila Jane, in March 2021. Mark and I are loving being Lolly and Pop to Lila Jane. My son, Hunter Hays, graduated from SGCHS in May 2015. He is currently employed by FedEx Ground in Humboldt as an operations manager. Mark and I are currently empty nesters and have a four year old beagle named Boomer. In September 2020 we had to say goodbye to our precious Pookie. He was a twelve year old fiest. He was spoiled beyond measure. Boomer is working on being as spoiled as Pookie. Sometimes I think he is spoiled more than Pookie!
