First Nine Weeks
Follows words left to right, top to bottom, and page by page Distinguish between pictures and words Distinguish between pictures and words Counts using one to one correspondence Describe the position of an object
Second Nine Weeks
Produce rhyming words Produce, blend, and segment syllables Orally produce complete sentences Describes the relationship between pictures and words in text Count backward from 10 Counts to 100 by ones Counts to 100 by tens Counts to 100 by fives Sort a collection of objects Name 2D shapes (rectangle triangle, circle, square, hexagon)
Third Nine Weeks
Identify the initial, middle, and/ or final sound of a word Blend and segment onset and rime Segment and blend phonemes Distinguish between similarly spelled words Identify the main topic of an informational text Defines the role of an author and illustrator Identify and produce opposites Reads/ decodes CVC words Compares two numbers as greater than, less than, or equal to Understand that each successive number is one larger Directly compare two objects (heavier/lighter; taller/shorter)
Fourth Nine Weeks
Add or substitute phonemes Orally retell familiar stories Orally identify characters, setting, and major events of a story Read simple stories, informational text, and poems Attempts to spell simple words with letter sound relationships Recognize and name end puctuation . ? ! Forms plural nouns orally Distinguishes between literature and informational text Understands and uses question words (who, what, where, why) Capitalize the first word in a sentence and the pronoun I Determine the meaning of multiple meaning words Write a complete sentence or sentences to inform, narrate, explain, or give an opinion Count forward beginning at a given number Find the number that makes ten when adding 1-9 Solves addition equations to 10 using objects and/or mental math Decompose numbers less than 10 Compose and decompose numbers from 11-19 Identifies penny, nickel, dime, and quarter Identifies the value of the penny, nickel, dime, and quarter Name 3D shapes (cube, cone, cylinder, sphere) Compose larger shapes using simple shapes Identify shapes as 2D or 3D Describe shape attributes (corners, vertices, sides)
